September Soundcheck
It’s always hard to believe that summer proper is coming to an end. What began as an idea to build community among North Shore musicians, fans, and venues is continuing to take shape.
Over the past month, we’ve been steadily building behind the scenes, working through technology to refine the webpage and the I’m With the Band platform, testing how all the pieces fit together, and learning a lot along the way (all while keeping a pretty busy gigging schedule).
We’re not quite ready to call it complete and far from calling it finished and that is a good thing. There is so much to do and we’re building this with real musicians, genuine fans, and top area venues, so every show and every conversation gives us another opportunity to make it better.
There is still plenty ahead but the foundation is getting stronger.
Thanks for being part of the journey!
North Shore Musicians Guild
Late Summer at NSMG
As the summer moves along, North Shore Musician’s Guild is having a similar experience to most of our fellow local musicians. We’re looking back at June and July and wondering where they went while looking forward to the month or two (depending on what New England decides) of outdoor gigging and building a fall/winter calendar. While a great deal continues to happen for the Guild’s development, much of it is occurring behind the scenes.
While new features are imagined and built, they are strengthening the foundation for the road ahead. When it reaches maturity, the mission will be for NSMG to be a genuinely useful resource for the local music community. Those building blocks are on the pallet and we are preparing to begin stacking them.
There is still plenty of work ahead, but the vision is taking shape rapidly. Over the coming months, the focus will be on refining the website and its resources to a point where we are ready to introduce the NSMG to a wider audience.
Stand by for much more to come.
This Month at NSMG, July 2026
Summer is upon us and the local music scene is heating up. This can be a great time of year for gigging as outdoor spaces not only create more booking opportunities but also offer a visually appealing backdrop for live music. If you haven’t already booked or been booked for the summer, you’re probably realizing, at this point, that getting ahead of summer booking is a good strategy for 2027. If you are among the many who love to take in some local live music, however, you’re in luck as the listings around the North Shore are abundant!
What We’re Working On
Over the past month we’ve continued develop the NSMG website and community resources. In the coming months you’ll begin to see new features, including:
A growing community events calendar
More opportunities for local musicians to connect
Community spotlights featuring musicians, venues, and organizations
New ways for fans to discover live music happening close to home
This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to build it together.
Get Involved
The Guild is strongest when it's driven by the community.
You can help by:
Attending local performances
Sharing upcoming events with us
Inviting fellow musicians and music lovers to join the community
Following along as new resources are introduced
Every connection helps strengthen live music on the North Shore.
Looking Ahead
We're excited for what's coming this summer and beyond. As the Guild continues to grow, we'll be introducing new ways for members to connect, discover performances, and celebrate the incredible talent that exists throughout our local music community.
Thank you for being part of this journey. We look forward to seeing you at a show soon!
The North Shore Musicians Guild
Welcome to the North Shore Musicians Guild (June 2026)
Greetings and thank you for visiting our community hub. The Guild is for anyone who cares about live music on the North Shore. As you are probably aware, there are a large number and huge variety of local bands in this area and, as yet, there is no one place to showcase and celebrate these fellow musicians, music lovers, supporters, and hosting venues. The vision for the NSMG is to create a space for us to share information, make connections, and stay informed about live music from Revere to Salisbury and beyond. Check in on a regular basis to find musician spotlights, venue insights, bands looking for stand-ins or new members, and a calendar of events. In short, the growth and utility of the Guild will depend very much on you. Let’s come together and shine a light on all of the talent, fans, and hot spots on the North Shore.
